Arnold Palmer is still dead. And Rickie Fowler is still trying to impress him. Once again, Rickie will be honoring Arnie as only Mr. Palmer would have it, with flat bills and high tops.
This week we’re parking our minivans in the Universal Studios and taking the bus to Bay Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Even though Tiger boosted golf into the front page of the sports world with his T2 finish last week, the PGA Tour has to compete against the first two rounds of March Madness, which, unless Elin Nordegren hood scoops Tiger with his own busted Escalade on the !8th hole Happy Gilmore style, I don’t expect this week to pull the same ratings as last week. Even though the majority of the ADD sports fans have shifted their goldfish-like focus to the NCAA Tournament, the golf this week should be highly entertaining.
Even though we won’t see DJ, JT, or Spieth, we will still get Tiger, Yama, JDay, Stenson, Rickie, Rory, old dogs Ernie and Vijay, good guys Bubba and Patrick Reed, and of course, Sam Burns.
Baylor boys Luke List and Harris English are the only two of the four playing this week with Luke teeing it off with John Holmes and Harris getting stuck with the hatless wonder Ollie Sliderhands. Our boy Tom Hoge is playing with all-time great PGA Tour name Jason Kokrak.

Popular pick this week is obviously Tiger with his finish last week and his past success at API. Jason Day and Rickie are also popular this week. If you want to pick Tiger I don’t think this week is a bad time to burn him. But I’m going with a different Englishman to hold off the charge again this week. And while I wish it was Harris, I think Tyrell Hatton is coming away with the win this week.
